Gritty, and many other Philadelphians, are heading to SXSW this weekend




This weekend marks the return of SXSW, the annual festival-conference in Austin, Texas, that welcomes leaders in tech, paintings, and, in some circumstances, viral orange hockey mascots.

The one and solely Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty will probably be heading to Texas this weekend, doing a meet-and-greet alongside together with his non-Philly followers (of which there are many) and getting his image taken with friends at – the place else? – the Comcast NBCUniversal House.

Though Gritty typically is essentially the most acknowledged Philadelphian to attend SXSW, there are an entire lot of others planning to be there, too, many as part of the Amplify Philly initiative which has labored to enhance Philly’s presence at foremost events, paying homage to SXSW, over the last few years. After debuting on the event in 2017, the groups behind Amplify Philly are planning a return this weekend.

Helping propel Amplify Philly are promoting firm REC Philly, event administration agency Witty Gritty, and Philly Startup Leaders. Together the organizations will push city’s greatest entrepreneurs, musicians, organizations, and utilized sciences out of the Amplify Philly House, positioned on one amongst SXSW’s busiest areas. The collective may even host six panels – and serve many, many cheesesteaks.
