Florida kidnapping thwarted by gallery owner, woman arrested

Miami police on Monday arrested a woman who allegedly kidnapped a 6-year-old from an art work gallery remaining week — in a dramatic scene caught on video.

Katherine E. Hatcher, 50, was arrested and charged with kidnapping after police acknowledged she walked out of Swampspace Gallery on March 4.

The unidentified boy was on the gallery to go to the proprietor, Oliver Sanchez, and his daughter when he seen Hatcher stroll into the gallery from the once more, WSVN reported citing investigators.

Sanchez acknowledged he requested the “disheveled” woman to depart — and when she did, he acknowledged she took the 6-year-old by the arm and left with him, claiming she was his family.

Sanchez acknowledged one factor didn’t seem correct so he adopted Hatcher for a couple of half-block the place he proceeded to ask the boy how he knew her.

Once the boy acknowledged he didn’t, Sanchez knowledgeable WSVN that he broke Hatcher’s grip, grabbed him and walked away.

Miami police launched surveillance video of the suspect on Monday asking most people’s help to determine her. A tip leading to her arrest bought right here later that exact same day.

Hatcher lived on the Camillus House, an space nonprofit that cares for the homeless, the Miami Herald reported.
