Dec. 18 (UPI) — The Chicago Cubs have signed free agent infielder Daniel Descalso to a two-year contract.
Chicago introduced the signing on Tuesday. The deal has a third-year possibility for 2021. Sources informed MLB.com and The Athletic that the contract is price $5 million.
Descalso, 32, hit .238 with 13 dwelling runs and 57 RBIs in 138 video games final season for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He owns a profession .240 batting common and has 46 profession lengthy balls throughout his nine-year MLB tenure.
The infielder’s possibility for 2021 is price $three.5 million. The Cubs can choose to purchase him out of the contract for $1 million.
