The Milwaukee Brewers are calling up top prospect Keston Hiura.
Sources educated MLB.com and The Athletic of the switch on Tuesday. Hiura, 22, was the No. 9 whole select throughout the 2017 MLB Draft. The second baseman is baseball’s No. 15 whole prospect, consistent with MLB Pipeline.
He is hitting .333 and has 11 dwelling runs in 147 plate appearances this season in Triple-A.
Sources instructed MLB Network that the Brewers will in all probability place third baseman Travis Shaw on the injured guidelines to make room for Hiura on the 25-man roster. Mike Moustakas would in all probability switch over to third base, his main place.
The Brewers face the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
