Unsuspecting victim gives burglar car ride home: cops

WATERBORO, Maine — Authorities in Maine say a burglar had a chunk to eat, watched TV and even acquired a car ride from his unsuspecting victim.

The York County sheriff’s workplace mentioned 35-year-old Derek Tarbox broke right into a Waterboro residence Sunday afternoon, took a bathe, acquired dressed within the home-owner’s clothes and was watching tv when the home-owner arrived. The intruder mentioned he mistakenly thought the home belonged to a good friend and requested for a ride residence.

The home-owner informed authorities that appeared believable, so he drove him to a home in Hollis, which truly belonged to Tarbox’s family. The victim later realized his residence had been ransacked.

Tarbox, who was arrested in Limrick, was resulting from be arraigned on housebreaking and different expenses Wednesday. It was unclear if he has a lawyer.
