Rio de Janeiro, Brazil sharpshooters get ‘license to kill’

Groups of marksmen will patrol components of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with high-powered weapons and a license to kill, mentioned a safety adviser to state Gov.-elect Wilson Witzel.

Bloomberg Information reported Saturday that as many as 120 sharpshooters will be part of police patrolling the town’s slums to wipe out gun-toting criminals. The shooters will work in pairs — one pulls the set off whereas the opposite videotapes deaths.

“The protocol might be to right away . . . slaughter anybody who has a rifle,” mentioned Witzel, a federal decide and former Brazilian Marine. “Whoever has a rifle isn’t apprehensive about different folks’s lives, they’re able to eradicate anybody who crosses their path.’’
