WASHINGTON – President Trump might be skipping the annual Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve celebration due to the federal government shutdown.
Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney confirmed the information on “Fox & Friends” Friday.
“He’s canceled his plans for Christmas — now he’s canceled his plans for New Year’s,” he stated.
Trump was initially supposed to journey to his Palm Beach, Florida, resort on Dec. 21, however stayed put in DC, as the federal government partially shut down at midnight Saturday.
First woman Melania Trump and his 12-year-old son Barron made the journey individually.
Other members of the family, together with White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, are vacationing on the personal membership.
In the early minutes of Christmas Eve, Trump complained, “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security.”
Later within the day, the primary woman returned to Washington to spend the vacation together with her husband.
On Wednesday, she joined him for an unannounced journey to go to U.S. troops in Iraq.
She traveled again to Mar-a-Lago Thursday night to be with Barron, her spokeswoman advised CNN.
