Learn how to care for trees in New Orleans

The nonprofit Parkway Companions is providing a free course, educating care and develop bushes in an city atmosphere. Designed for novice gardeners to horticulturists, Parkway Companions’ Tree Troopers program consists of 4 three-hour periods on protect New Orleans’ city forest.

Some instructors for the 2018 programs embrace: Margie Inexperienced, proprietor of Cow Apple Horticulture; ecologist Tony Laskat; and Yadong Qi, Southern College professor of City Forestry and Design. The Tuesday evening programs happen Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, from 6 to eight:30 p.m. The Saturday morning programs are Feb. 24 and March three, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
