Dr. Thomas Oelsner honored with Touro Infirmary’s 2017 Judah Touro Society Award




Since 1989, Touro Infirmary Basis has been recognizing its excellent staff and supporters with the Judah Touro Society Award.

The award, named for the 19th-century philanthropist and founding father of Touro Infirmary, honors “a dwelling one who has demonstrated excellent management and help of Touro Infirmary.” It’s the hospital’s highest honor and is voted on yearly by earlier award recipients. Although nominations can come from anybody, the nominee have to be an honorary board member, previous chairman, member of the medical workers, volunteer or worker of Touro.

On Nov. four, the annual Touro Infirmary Basis Gala honored Dr. Thomas Oelsner with the 2017 Judah Touro Society Award. Dr. Oelsner, a Touro Infirmary medical workers member from 1967 to 2006, developed the primary dialysis unit in a New Orleans neighborhood hospital, serving as Chief of Nephrology whereas he was on workers.

These within the viewers applauding his honor was his spouse, Marilynn Oelsner, daughter Lauren Oelsner Greenberg and her husband David Greenberg, gala co-chairs Benjamin Swig, Allison Kupperman and Shane Kupperman, and Dr. Meredith Maxwell and Stephen Morel, basis Director Jonnie L. Honse and Clifford Sutter Jr., basis Supervisor Josh Friedmann and Lindsay Baach Friedmann, basis board Chair Nancy B. Timm and Stephen Timm, C.C. and Dr. Brent Wallis, Touro Infirmary Governing Board Chair Louis Ok. Good III and Susan Good.

Even the theme of the gala at Mardi Gras World, “Let’s Take A Highway Journey,” tied into Dr. Oelsner: at every desk, there have been license plates from every state within the continental U.S. that him and his spouse have gone to of their RV, and all through the house, giant journey themed signage was on show.

Gala diversions included a silent artwork public sale that includes works Nurhan Gokturk, Ashton Shaw Despot, Bryan Brown and Web page Goss, and music from James Martin Band, adopted by DJ.
