When you are desperate, blame the mice.
Fired police officers in Argentina say hungry rodents ate half a ton of missing marijuana.
The pot was found to have vanished during an inspection of a warehouse in the town of Pilar, according to the Guardian.
Former police commissioner Javier Specia left the inventory of 13,000 pounds of marijuana unsigned when he stepped down a year ago, the newspaper reported. His successor noticed that some of the pot was missing. Cynthia Nixon again calls for legalization of marijuana in N.Y.
Specia and three of his officers say the marijuana was “eaten by mice,” but experts doubt that to be the case.
“Buenos Aires University experts have explained that mice wouldn’t mistake the drug for food, and that if a large group of mice had eaten it, a lot of corpses would have been found in the warehouse,” a spokesperson for the judge said, according to the Guardian.
A total of eight police officers were fired. Four will testify next month.
